Outside of school courses, I have extended my knowledge in science and astronomy in various ways.

Since the fall of 2021, I have been engaged in an exciting academic research project in collaboration with Professor Anna Frebel at MIT. After considering several potential research topics, we settled on stellar archeology, with a focus on analyzing the chemical and dynamical signatures of a second-generation star.

To undertake this research, I began by immersing myself in the theories and concepts related to stellar archeology, including understanding the differences in chemical composition between second-generation stars and more recent stars. I then proceeded to analyze abundance data on chemical elements and calculations of stellar parameters.

As a cofounder of the Women-in-science committee in school, we organize annual events to encourage more girls to pursue a career in science. We invite women scientists as speakers to the event to present a workshop related to their area of research. In the evening, we host a gala for speakers to share the experience as a women scientists and answer questions from the attendees.

In the summer of 2022, I initiated a project with two primary schools in the outskirts of Beijing to introduce astronomy to students at a younger age. I brought books and telescopes to the school to share theoretical knowledge as well as showing the students how to find well-known constellations. There were around 100 students who participated in the activity. They actively asked questions and quickly learned how to use telescopes to find stars. This project continued in 2023 with two other schools in Hebei, where more students attended.

The Rosey Cube Satellite project is an opportunity for 19 students to cooperate with aeronautical engineers from Orbital Solution Monaco to construct the first Rosey Satellite which will be launched into space in 2023. The project started in September 2021 where we spend two hours weekly to learn the theories behind a satellite launch. In the summer of 2022, we went to Monaco to construct the satellite.
